Evaluation via Batalyse Collect
Collect is a universal database software storing files independent of the test device, file structure and format. Next to electrochemistry files you can also gather and save analysis files, process and production files, test results….whatever you want.
Data Analysis can directly connect to Collect, evaluate the files, save back the calculation and the result graphs, including manual changes you made.
This is how you can use it:
Click on Database import in the toolbar
Now choose “Batalyse Collect” as database type. With the checkbox “Use the public Batalyse-Collect demo server” active you will connect to our internet based Collect demo server.
With an unchecked box you will connect to you locally installed Collect database. The “Save analysis results to Collect” option enables that the calculations, graphs and the parameter file created by Data Analysis will be stored back to Collect. If you want to open a corresponding test file in the future you will directly download the results from the database and you don't have to wait for the calculations to be done.
After clicking on “Save” Data Analysis connects to Collect and shows you all electrochemistry and analysis measurements.
Now choose the tests you want to analysis and proceed as usual.
Evaluation via an SQL database
For evaluation via a network, your measuring instruments must be connected via a network and controlled by the work computer with Data Analysis installation. The best way to make your measuring instruments network-compatible and configure them is to contact the respective distributor and your computer administrators.
Currently Data Analysis only supports MySQL and MSSQL databases and Basytec test systems. Please contact us if you use measuring instruments of other manufacturers.
Setup of a SQL server
Please use the user manual of your device manufacturer. Batalyse works with MySQL and MSSQL databases.
Installation of a MySQL driver
The basic requirement is that you have installed the appropriate SQL drivers on your workstation with Batalyse installation (https://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/odbc/). If you haven't, please download and install this driver first.
Either start the ODBC Data Sources program from the Windows Administrator Tools or search for and run ODBC from the Start menu. The following input window appears:
Select “Add”. The following window appears. By installing the SQL driver, “MySQL ODBC Ansi Driver” should be listed. Select it and click “Finish”.
Now enter the connection data to the measurement server in the MySQL Connector / ODBC input mask. For TCP/IP Server enter the IP address or Host Name of your server. The entry “AE-T-3630-1802” shown above is only an example.
Then select the Database Import field in Origin from the File menu or directly as a function button.
The following SQL Editor window appears. Under File, select New.
In the Provider tab, select the driver “Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers”. Enter the access data for your server in the Connection tab (same parameters as for the SQL Connector above).
After the input, the SQL Editor connects to your server (see below).
For increased security, you can enable the “Encrypt Login info” in the settings menu.
This will encrypt the username and password of your database user you entered.
Now, save the ODS connection file with your desired name and location under File → Save connection as…
Installation of a MSSQL driver

Connecting Batalyse to an SQL Server
To connect Batalyse to the network, select the Import from Database function key on the Batalyse Toolbar.
The following input mask appears. In Database connection settings file, select the ODS object you created previously. By selecting the checkbox Save as default and don't ask again you do not have to perform this procedure again. In the menu Database Type choose either a MySQL or MSSQL according to your settings. The optional Query Filter provides example methods to structure and filter the results before being displayed, E.g. Only show results younger than three months.
Batalyse now connects to your SQL Server and you see an overview of all stored measurements:
The most recent measurement is always listed above. A maximum of 10 measurements are displayed on your screen. By using the two black arrow keys to the left and right, further measurements can be displayed. Click on the header bar to sort the measurements by the selected column. The filters in the header help you to keep track. For example, measurements can only be displayed on a specific system if you are using several measuring stations.
